Palak Raita

Ingredients for Palak Raita

  • Spinach / Palak - 1 Cup
  • Curd - 1 Cup
  • Rock Salt or Black Salt
  • Ginger - 1/4 tsp(Chopped)
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Carom Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam Masala - A Pinch
  • Turmeric Powder - A Pinch
  • Mint Leaves
  • Red Chilly Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil

Preparation of Palak Raita Recipe

First take a bowl and add curd. Whisk the curd well and keep aside.

Take a pan and heat oil.

Add carom seeds and fry them for 2 to 3 seconds.

Add chopped ginger and saute them for few seconds.

Now add the chopped palak and saute them.

Then add all the spice powder (garam masala, coriander powder, red chilly powder and salt).

Saute them for few minutes until the palak stops releasing water.

Add the mint leaves. Stir them and turn of the flame.

Add the mixture to the curd and sprinkle some pepper powder.

Healthy and tasty raita using palak , Palak Raita is ready.

Tips - Palak Raita

Add fennel powder for a different taste.

We can refrigerate it for more cool raita.

Serve the palak raita with any kind of variety rice.
