Ingredients for Palak Paneer
- Paneer - 2 to 3 Cups (Cubed)
- Spinach/Palak - 1 Bunch
- Green Chilies - 1 or 2
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
- Butter - 2 tsp
- Onions - 1 Cup (Finely Chopped)
- Tomatoes- 1 (Finely Chopped)
- Ginger and Garlic - 2 tsp (Chopped)
- Bay Leaf - 1
- Cream - 1 to 2 tsp
- Cashewnuts - 2 tsp
- Salt - As Needed
Preparation of Palak Paneer Recipe
Rinse the spinch well in water.
Take a pan and boil the water with salt.
Then switch off the flame and add the spinach leaves to the hot water and close the lid.
Wait for 3 to 4 minutes.
Drain and add the spinach to cold water so that the green color of the spinach will remain.
Drain the spinach and add them to blender along with ginger and garlic and grind them as fine paste.
We got our spinach puree is ready and keep it aside.
Take another pan and 1 tsp of butter and let it melts.
Add the cumin seeds and let them fry.
Add the bay leaf to it and saute them.
Then add the finely chopped onions to them and saute them well.
When the onion turns golden brown add the chopped ginger and garlic.
Saute them till the raw smell goes off.
Now, add the finely chopped tomato to the mixture and saute them well till the whole mixture gets soft.
Then, add the powders one by one (Chilli powder, Cumin powder and turmeric powder) and saute them for few minutes.
Add the spinach puree to the mixture.
Add water to it and mix well till the mixture turn thick.
Allow the spinach to cooks well in low flame for 5 to 10 minutes.
Add the Garam Masala and salt to taste.
Now, add the paneer cubes to the gravy.
Let the gravy cooks for 2 to 3 minutes till the paneer cubes gets soft.
Add 1 tsp of cream and stir them.
Finally, add the cruched kasuri methi leaves and turn of the flame.
Our delicious and healthy "Palak Paneer", is ready to be served hot.
Tips - Palak Paneer Recipe
We can fry the panner cubes before adding to the gravy.
