Oats Upma

We all know that oats have lots of fibers which is best suitable for dieting but we will feel bore to have to have oats for breakfast. Let us make a healthy and also tasty breakfast using oats and mixed vegetables, "Oats Upma".

Ingredients for Oats Upma

  • Oats - 1/2 Cup
  • Rava - 1/4 Cup
  • Onion - 1 (Finely chopped)
  • Corianders - 1/4 cup (Finely chopped)
  • Curry leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Green Chili - 1 chopped(If needed)
  • Ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • Vegetables - 1 Cup (Carrot, Beans, green peas)
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Red Chillies - 1
  • Oil and Salt - Needed

Preparation of Oats Upma

First half cook the vegetables and keep it aside.

Take a pan and heat 1 tsp of oil.

Add mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chili and few curry leaves.

Once the mustard seeds got spluttered add finely chopped onion.

Once the onion turn to golden brown, add ginger and saute them well.

Then add chopped vegetables and mix well.

Add salt and water. Let it boil.

Once the water got boiled add rava and oats.

Cook them till we got upma consistency.

Our diet special healthy "Oats Upma" is ready.

Tips - Oats Upma

We can add any vegetables like cauliflower, potatoes etc.,

Add Ground nut and cashews for more taste.

Roast the rava before adding to water.
