Ingredients for Naan without yeast
- All-Purpose flour / Maida - 3 Cups
- Backing powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
- Baking Soda - A pinch
- Yogurt - 3 tsp
- Milk - 2 tblsp
- Water - 3/4 Cup (As Required)
- Sugar - 2 tsp
- Butter / Oil
- Onion Seeds and Melon Seeds - As Needed
Preparation of Naan Recipe at Home
In a bowl, add water, milk, salt and yogurt. Mix them well.
Add sugar to the mixture and stir them again.
Then add the flour and mix them well to make a smooth dough.
Add baking powder and baking soda. Mix them well with the dough.
To make the dough smooth adjust the water as needed.
Cover with wet cloth and leave it for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes add oil and knead it again and again cover with the wet cloth. Leave it for 2 to 3 hours.
After 3 hours the dough would be risen up.
Now divide it to small equal balls.
Roll a ball into small circle and spread some onion and melon seeds.
Again roll into a 4 to 5 inches round circle.
Heat tawa and place the rolled naan.
Half cook the naan both sides on tawa.
Then place the naan directly on fire with help of tongs.
Cook both sides of naan until it turn brown.
Once ready apply some oil or butter on the naan and transfer to serving bowl.
A delicious "Naan" are ready to serve with a curry.
Tips - Naan on stove top
Instead of 3 cups of maida flour we can add 2 Cups of wheat flour and 1 cup all-purpose flour for making it healthier.
For a best taste serve naan with paneer gravy or any north Indian vegetable gravy.
We can use 1/2 tsp of yeast instead of baking powder and baking soda.
