Ingredients for Medu Vada or Crispy Ulundu Vadai
- Whole Urad Dal - 1.5 Cup
- Rice - 3 tblsp
- Onion - 1
- Chopped Ginger - 2 tblsp
- Green Chilli - 3
- Curry leaves
Preparation of Medu Vada Snack Recipe
First wash and soak the urad dal and rice together for 2 to 3 hours.
Now drain and grind them in a blender to make a smooth paste. Add little water to make a fine paste. (Do not add more water.)
Take a large bowl and transfer the urad dal paste.
Add finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and salt to taste.
Heat oil in a pan.
Take a small amount of the mixture. Round it and make a small hole in the center. Drop it into hot oil.
Fry them until it turns golden brown.
Transfer the hot vada to a serving plate with chutney.
Crispy and tasty, "Medu Vada" is ready.
Tips - Medu Vada or Urad Dal Vadai
Donot keep the batter for more than 3 hours.
If the batter is watery add a tblsp of all purpose flour.
