Jeera Aloo

"Jeera Aloo" is one of the simple side dish which goes well with chappati, dal rice, etc.,. It can be cooked with very few ingredients like potatoes and cumin seeds.

Ingredients for Jeera Aloo

  • Potato - 5 to 7
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera- 2 to 3 tsp
  • Green Chilies - 3
  • Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tblsp
  • Salt

Preparation of Jeera Aloo Recipe

Wash and peel off the potatoes. Boil the potatoes and cut them as cubes.

Take a pan and heat oil.

Add cumin seeds and saute them for 1 minute.

Now add the chopped green chilies and saute them.

Then add the boiled potatoes and saute the well.

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. saute them well.

Saute them for 2 to 3 minutes.

Then add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves. Mix them and turn off the flame.

Transfer the potatoes to a serving plate.

Easy and tasty, "Jeera Aloo" is ready.

Tips - Jeera Aloo

We can add a pinch of dry mango powder instead of lemon juice.
