Green Peas Gravy

Ingredients for Green Peas Gravy

  • Green Peas - 1 Cups
  • Onion - 1
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Clove - 3
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 inch
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi - 1/4 tsp
  • Butter
  • Salt

For Sauteing and grinding

  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Onion - 1
  • Garlic Cloves - 3 to 4
  • Green Chillie - 2 tsp
  • Ginger - 1/4 Inch

Cashew Paste

  • Cashews - 7 to 8
  • Curd - 2 tblsp

Preparation of Green Peas Gravy Recipe

First clean the green peas and soak it over night.

Pressure cook the soaked green peas for 2 whistles

Soak the cashews in hot water for 20 to 30 minutes.

Take a pan and heat oil.

Add chopped onions, green chillies and saute them for 30 seconds.

Now add garlic clove and ginger. Again saute them for another 30seconds.

Then add the chopped tomatoes and saute them until the tomatoes turns soft.

Let them cool and grind them to make a smooth paste.

Take a blender and grind the soaked cashews with curd to make a smooth paste.

Take another pan and heat butter.

Add bay leaf, clove, cinnamon stick and cumin seeds. Saute them.

Add finely chopped onions and stir them for 1 to 2 minutes until the onion turns golden brown.

Then add the tomato and onion paste. Mix them.

Now add red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt and cook them for 5 to 7 minutes until the raw smell goes off.

Add the boiled green peas and mix them well. Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes.

Finally add the cashew paste and kasoori methi. Mix them and turn off the flame.

A tasty and restaurant style north Indian special gravy recipe, "Green Peas Gravy" is ready.

Tips - Green Peas Gravy

We can add other vegetables like boiled cauliflower, paneer, boiled potatoes, etc., as you wish.

Add 1/2 tsp of garam masala for more taste.
