Ingredients for Coconut Chutney

  • Coconut - 1/2 Cup
  • Roasted Chana Dal - 2 to 3 tblsp
  • Green Chillies - 3
  • Ginger - 1/4 Inch
  • Garlic Cloves - 2
  • Tamarind - A small
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Salt
  • Oil

Preparation of Coconut Chutney Recipe

Take a blender. Add grated coconut, roasted chana dal, green chillies, ginger, garlic, tamarind and salt.

Grind them to a smooth paste and transfer to a bowl.

Take a pan and heat a tsp of oil.

Add mustard seeds and urad dal. Let them splutter.

Now add curry leaves and fry them for few seconds and turn of the flame.

Add the mustard seeds tempering to coconut chutney.

Our traditional and tasty, Coconut Chutney is ready.

Tips - Coconut Chutney

Serve the tasty coconut chutney with dosa or idli.

We can add dry red chillies while tempering mustard seeds.

Add enough water while grinding the chutney.
