Brown Rice Porridge

Ingredients for Brown Rice Porridge

  • Brown Rice - 200 g
  • Semi-Skimmed Milk - 250 ml
  • Dried Blueberries - 2 tbl
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey - 1 tbl
  • Egg - 1
  • Vanilla Extract - 1/4 tsp
  • Butter - 2 tsp
  • Salt

Preparation of Brown Rice Porridge Recipe

Take a pressure cooker, add brown rice, salt and water (1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup rice) and close the lid.

Cook them for 20 to 25 minutes and strain the water and keep aside.

Take another pan.

Add cooked brown rice, milk, blueberries, a dash of cinnamon , and honey.

Mix them and bring it to boil in low flame for 20 minutes.

In the mean time, in a separate bowl beat an egg.

Then, add then egg, vanilla extract, butter and mix them well.

Allow it to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Turn off the flame once the dish got thick.

Our fiber rich tasty "Brown Rice Porridge", is ready.

Tips - Brown Rice Porridge Recipe

We can make this recipe using the left over cooked brown rice..

We can also add chopped almonds and fruits like bannan, apple etc., for more taste.
