Ingredients for Aloo Gobhi Gravy
- Potatoes / Aloos - 2 to 3
- Cauliflower / Gobhi - 3 Cups (Chopped)
- Onion - 1 to 2 (Finely Chopped)
- Tomatoes - 2 (Finely Chopped)
- Ginger and Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
- Cashews - 10 to 15
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
- Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
- Butter - 2 tsp
- Cinnamon - 1
- Bay Leaf - 1
- Cardamoms - 2 to 3
- Cloves - 2 to 3
- Salt - As Needed
Preparation of Aloo Gobhi Masala Recipe
Wash and peel the potatoes and cut them as some big slices.
Wash the chopped cauliflower and soak them in hot water mixed with salt for 10 to 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes drain the salt water and wash the cauliflowers and keep aside.
Soak the cashewnuts in water for 10 minutes and grind the cashewnuts as fine paste.
Take a pan and heat a tsp of butter.
When the butter melts, add all the spices one by one (Cinnamon, Bay Leaf, Cardamoms and Cloves).
Saute the spices well.
Now, add the finely chopped onions and saute them till the onions turns golden brown.
Now add the Ginger, Garlic Paste and saute them till the raw smell goes off.
Add the finely chopped tomato paste to the mixture and saute them well.
Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes.
Now, add the powders one by one (Chilli powder, Cumin powder, Garam Masala and Coriander powder) and saute them well.
Then, add the cashewnut paste and salt to taste and mix well.
Saute the mixture well till the oil gets separates.
Then add the potatoes and cauliflower to the mixture and saute the well.
Add water to it and mix well till the mixture turn thick and stir the often till the vegetable cooks well.
Finally add the crushed Kasuri Methi and stir them for a minute and turn off the flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves
Our spicy and tasty "Aloo Gobhi" Masala, is ready to taste.
Tips - Aloo Gobhi Recipe
We can add a boiled Green peas to the Aloo Gobhi masala. .
For a different taste we can add cream to the masala.
We can use vegetable stock instead of water.
