Ingredients for Rice Kheer
- Rice - 1/4 Cup
- Sugar - 5 to 7 tsp
- Milk - 1 liter
- Ghee - 1 Cup
- Cashew nuts
- Dry Grapes
- Cardamom Powder- 1/4 tsp
Preparation of Rice Kheer Recipe for Diwali
First rinse the rice and soak it for 30 to 40 minutes.
Heat a tbls of ghee. Roast the cashew nuts and dry grapes. Transfer to a separate bowl.
Take a pan or heavy bottomed vessel and heat milk. Let it boil.
Turn the flame to low.
Now drain the rice and add to the milk. Stir them continuously in low flame.
Wait until the rice should cook well in milk. It will take about 30 to 35 minutes.
At this stage add the sugar and stir them again.
Meanwhile scrape the sides of pan and add it into the pan and mix them.
Finally add the cardamom powder, roasted cashew nuts and dry fruits. Mix them.
Transfer the Kheer to a serving bowl.
Delicious and simple, Rice Kheer is ready for Diwali celebration.
Tips - Rice Kheer
We should be careful on cooking the rice in milk it should not get burnt also it should not undercooked.
Add any dry fruits you wish like almonds, walnuts, etc.,.
We can add rose water for more flavour.
