Ingredients for Rasmalai Sweet

Home Made Paneer

  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Lemon Juice - 2 to 3 tsp


  • Homemade paneer – 100 Grams
  • Rava - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom - 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 to 3 tsp (As needed)
  • All purpose flour or maida - 1 tbsp


  • Milk – 1/2 liter
  • Sugar - 1/3 Cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Saffron - A Pinch
  • Pistachio and Almonds (Chopped)

Preparation of Sweet Rasmalai Recipe

Preparation of Homemade Paneer

Boil the milk.

In an low flame, add lemon juice to it.

Continuously stir the milk.

Milk will start curdling.

Stir the milk continuously until the curdling process completes.

Turn off the stove and transfer it to a clean cloth and wait till it gets cool.

Tie the cloth and hang it for 15 minutes until the water get completely drained.

Keep a heavy object on the cloth and leave it for 3 hours.

After 3 hours take a bundle of panner and cut them as small cubes.

Our "home made paneer" is ready.

Preparation of Rasgullas

Knead the Paneer with your fingers until your hands become oily.

Add 1 tsp of rava, Cardamom powder, sugar and Knead them again lightly.

Take a small portion of mixed paneer and make a soft ball without any cracks.

Then flatten the balls made and just dust it in maida and keep aside.

Repeat the above steps to make 6 to 8 pieces.

Heat water in low flame and add sugar

After the sugar got dissolved completely increase the flame and allow it got boil.

Wait till sugar syrup gets scrolling consistency (Like a tonic).

Keep the flame in medium and the paneer flat balls to the sugar syrup and wait for 10 to 15 minutes.

After 15 minute the rasgullas will become double the size of the original balls.

Switch off the flame and let it cool.

Keep the rasgullas soaked in sugar syrup for 2 to 3 hours.

Our "rasgullas" is ready now.

Preparation of Rasmalai

Boil 1/2 liter of milk until it reduces to 1/4 liter.

Add sugar, cardamom powder to the milk and mix well until sugar gets dissolve.

Add almonds, pistachio and saffron soaked in a tbsp of milk and mix well.

Now, take the rasgullas from the sugar syrup and drain the excess sugar syrup.

Drop the drained rasgullas to the saffron milk mixture and let it cool.

Finally, our delicious "rasmalai" got ready, refrigerate and serve chilled.

Tips - Tasty Rasmalai Recipe

For better taste always use the home made paneer for rasmalai.

While boiling milk keep string the milk continuously so that the milk should not get burnt.
