Ingredients for Coconut Barfi
- Desiccated Coconut - 1 Cup
- Milk - 3/4 Cup
- Condensed Milk - 3/4 Cup
- Cardamoms - 1 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Saffron - 1 pinch
- Cashewnuts - 2 tsp
- Ghee - 3 to 4 tsp
Preparation of Coconut Barfi Recipe
First boil 1 cup milk.
Take a bowl and mix the desiccated coconut with boiled milk.
Cover them and keep them aside for 1 hour.
Take a pan and heat 2 to 3 tsp of ghee.
Now, add the milk soaked desiccated coconut and saute them well for 3 to 4 minutes.
Keep the flame on low and add the condensed milk and stir them often.
Add 1 tsp of sugar and stir them well.
Also add 1 tsp of powdered cardamoms.
Stir them continuously till the coconut mixture gets thick.
Continue string till the coconut mixture does not stick to the pan.
Stir them for another 20 tot 2 minutes so that the ghee gets releases.
Turn off the flame.
Take a tray and apply ghee on it and spread them equally.
Pour the cooked coconut on the tray and spread them well.
Sprinkle saffrons and cashews on top of the coconut mixture.
Finally slice the coconut barfi.
Our delicious and traditional "Coconut Barfi", is ready.
Tips - Coconut Barfi Recipe
If your using fresh coconuts, no need to soak them in milk.
We can use few drops of rose water to the coconut mixture.
