We have already seen some Diwali sweets like "kaju katli", "gulab jamuns". Now, Let us learn another simple and tasty Diwali sweet "Badam Halwa".

Ingredients for Badam Halwa

  • Almonds / Badam - 2 Cup
  • Cardamoms - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1/2 Cup
  • Saffron - 2 pinch
  • Cashewnuts - 2 tsp
  • Ghee - 1/4 Cup

Preparation of Badam Halwa Recipe

First soak the badams over night.

Grind the soaked badam with 2 cups of water to smooth paste.

Take a pan and add the badam paste.

Stir them continuously till the badam mixture gets thickens and dries.

Now, add the sugar and stir them continuously.

Keep the flame on low and add the 1/2 cup of milk and stir them often.

Again stir them well.

Add 1/2 cup of ghee and stir them well.

Also add 1 tsp of powdered cardamoms.

Stir them continuously till the mixture gets thick.

Continue string till the badam mixture does not stick to the pan.

Stir them for another 20 tot 2 minutes so that the ghee gets releases.

Turn off the flame.

Take a tray and apply ghee on it and spread them equally.

Pour the cooked badam on the tray and spread them well.

Sprinkle saffrons and cashews on top of the badam halwa.

Finally slice the badam halwa as rectangle of diamond shapes and refrigerator the for 5 minutes.

Tips - Badam Halwa Recipe

Stir the badam mixture continuously on low flame so that the halwa should not get burnt.

Instead of ghee you can also add coconut oil.
