Ingredients for Aval Payasam
- Aval - 1 Cup
- Sugar - 3/4 Cup
- Milk - 3 Cups
- Dry Grapes
- Ghee - 3 to 4 tblsp
- Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
Preparation of Aval Payasam Recipe
First fry the aval in dry pan for 2 minutes and keep aside.
Heat a tsp of ghee and fry the cashew nuts and dry grapes separately and keep aside.
Take a heavy bottomed pan and add milk.
Bring the milk to boil Once the milk starts boiling reduce the flame.
Add the fried aval and stir them continuously.
Add 2 to 3 tblsp of ghee and mix them again.
Now, add the sugar and mix it well, the sugar will starts melt.
Cook them for another 12 to 15 minutes in low flame.
Add the crushed cardamom powder and turn off the flame.
Once you got the thick payasam consistency turn of the flame.
Finally, add the fried cashew-nuts and dry grapes and mix them.
A traditional and mouth melting "Aval Payasam" is ready.
Tips - Aval Payasam Recipe
We can also ground Coconut for some more different taste.
