Ada Pradhaman

Ingredients for Ada Pradhaman Onam Recipe

  • Ada (broken rice) - 1/2 kg
  • Milk – 4 liters
  • Sugar - 1 kg
  • Cashewnuts - 10 to 15
  • Dried Grapes (Raisins) - 10 to 15
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee - 2 to 2 tsp

Preparation of Ada Pradhaman Onam Sweet

Wash the ada completely and soak it in hot water for about 1/2 to 1 hour.

Take a heavy bottomed vessel and heat 1 liter of milk.

Drain the soaked ada and add them to the boiling milk.

Allow the ada to cook well for 40 to 50 minutes.

While cooking the ada in milk keep mixing it so that it shouldn't creates any lumps.

The ada and milk will get thick as the ada gets cooked.

Add milk till the ada get cooked completely.

Once the ada cooks well add the remaing milk and sugar and stir them well till it turns pale yellow in color.

Add the Cardamom powder.

In another pan heat ghee and fry the Cashewnuts and Dried Grapes.

Add the fried Dried Grapes and Cashewnuts and turn off the stove.

Finally, our deliciously traditional onam special "Ada Pradhaman" is ready.

Tips - Ada Pradhaman

While boiling milk and ada stir continuously so that the milk shouldn't gets burnt.
