Ingredients for Uppu Kari
- Mutton - 1/2 KG
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger - Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
- Green Chillies - 6 to 8
- Coriander Powder - 3 tsp
- Small Onions - 1 Cup (Sliced)
- Big Onions - 1 (Sliced)
- Dry Red Cillies - 4 to 5
- Garlic - 2 tsp (Sliced)
- Curry Leaves
Preparation of Uppu Kari Recipe
Take a cooker and add cleaned and chopped mutton.
Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of ginger-garlic paste, 4 to 5 chopped green chillies, 3 tsp of coriander powder, sliced big onions, curry leaves.
Then add 2 to 3 tsp of oil, salt as needed and water.
Mix them all together and allow to cook well.
Wait till 20 to 22 whistles so that the mutton will get cook well and becomes soft.
Switch off the flame.
Take another pan and heat 2 tsp of oil.
Add Mustard seeds and sombu.
Wait till the Mustard seeds get burst.
Add dry red chillies. (Remove the seeds of chillies before adding.)
Add sliced garlic and saute them well.
Then add chopped small onions and fry them well till it becomes golden brown.
Add salt for only for onion mixture.
Now add the cooked mutton with the gravy.
Add curry leaves cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Tips - Uppu Kari ( Salted Mutton Curry)
If you are a spicy food lover you can add more green chillies while cooking the small onions.
Care full on adding salt to onion mixture, because we have already added salt while boiling mutton.
