Ingredients for Chicken Cacciatore
- Chicken Pieces - 4 to 5
- All-Purpose Flour - 1/2 Cup
- Onion - 1
- Red Bell Pepper - 1
- Chicken Broth - 3/4 Cup
- Garlic Cloves- 3
- Pepper Powder- 1 tsp
- Dry White Wine - 3/4 Cup
- Tomatoes - 1/4 Cup
- Capers - 3 tblsp
- Dried Oregano Leaves - 1 tsp
- Fresh Basil Leaves - 1/4 Cup
- Olive Oil - 1/4 Cup
Preparation of Chicken Cacciatore Recipe
First clean and cut the chicken thighs.
Add salt, pepper powder, all purpose flour and some water. Mix them well.
Add the chicken pieces to the batter. Allow them for 20 minutes.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
Now fry the coated chicken pieces. Allow each side of chicken pieces to cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Cook till the chicken turned golden brown.
Repeat the procedure for all chicken pieces. Transfer the fried chicken pieces to a plate.
Take a Pan and heat oil. Add finely chopped onions. Saute them.
Add chopped garlic and bell peppers. Saute them till raw smell goes off.
Now add ground tomatoes and cook them for 5 to 7 minutes.
Add salt, pepper and wine. Cook them in low flame for 3 minutes.
Add chicken broth, capser and dry oregano leaves. Mix them well.
Then add the fried chicken pieces. Turn the flame to sim and let them cook for 20 minutes.
Cook till the chicken absorbs sauce and sauce got reduces to half.
Transfer to serving plate and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Delicious and tasty Italian "Chicken Cacciatore" is ready.
Tips - Chicken Cacciatore Recipe
Instead of chicken broth we can add vegetable broth.
We can add mushrooms for more taste.
