Ingredients for Thandai
- Milk - 1 Cup
- Sugar - 1 and 1/2 Cup
- Gulkand - 1/4 Cup
- Almonds - 1 tblsp
- Tarbooj seeds - 1 tblsp
- Peppercorns - 1 tblsp
- Poppy Seeds - 1/2 tblsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Rose Water - 1/2 tsp
- Water - 1 and 1/2 Liters
Preparation of Thandai Recipe
Boil milk and keep it aside. Let it cool.
Take a bowl. Add 1/2 liter of water and sugar.
In another bowl. Add 2 cups of water, almonds, gulkand, tarbooj seeds, peppercorns and poppy seeds. All them for 2 hours.
After 2 hours grind all the soaked ingredients to a fine paste. Add remaining water to the paste.
Place a muslin strainer or a clean muslin cloth over a large vessel. Extract the liquid completely.
Now add the cardamom and cumin powder to the milk and mix well.
Finally add the milk mixture and rose water to the extracted dry seeds liquid. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Our healthy shivarathiri special "Thandai" is ready.
