Ragi Idli

Idli is one of the well known south Indian healthy breakfast. We are going to learn how to make this recipe interesting and healthy using ragi, "Ragi Idli". It will be a perfect breakfast recipe for dieting.

Ingredients for Ragi Idli

  • Rice - 2 Cup
  • Urad Dal - 1 Cup
  • Ragi Flour - 1 Cup
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Oil

Preparation of Ragi Idli Recipe

Wash the rice and dal. Soak them separately for 4 to 6 hours.

After 6 hours add water and grind them to make fine smooth paste. Transfer to a large container.

Add the ragi flour. Mix them well and let it ferment overnight.

Next morning the flour will be risen. Add salt and mix them well.

Now grease the idli moulds with oil and pour the batter on it.

Steam the idlis for 8 to 10 minutes. After removing from flame leave it for 5 minutes.

Transfer the hot idlis to a serving plate. Serve with hot sambar and chutney.

Our hot healthy and tasty "Ragi Idli" is ready.

Tips - Ragi Idli Recipe

Don't add so much water batter should be in proper idli batter consistency.

If needed we can add some baking soda.
